How to make a pimento cheese sandwich

Everyone has their favorite kind of Palmetto Cheese. Whether it’s Original or Jalapeno all will agree, there’s nothing better than a Palmetto Cheese sandwich for a quick and delicious lunch.   So how do you make this tasty treat?

Step 1. Visit your local grocery store and buy a tub of Palmetto Cheese and your favorite type of bread.  White is the traditional type used for pimento cheese sandwiches.

Step 2. Lay out two pieces of bread and open up your Palmetto Cheese.  You will need a spoon and a serrated knife also.

Step 3. Spoon 4-6 ounces of Palmetto Cheese evenly onto one slice of bread.  You should be able to get 2-3 sandwiches out of a tub depending on how much you use per sandwich.

Step 4. Place the other slice of bread on top of the cheese and slice in half with a serrated knife.  Combined with your favorite side dish, it makes for a simple meal that your family will love.  We served our sandwich with homemade potato salad(recipe below)

Palmetto Cheese Sandwich

Potato Salad

1 -5 lb bag White Potatoes
4 eggs, hard-boiled
1 medium onion, small diced
3 stalks celery, small diced
1 -32 ounce jar mayonnaise
1/4 cup yellow mustard
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
In a large pot of water, bring potatoes with skin on to a boil and cook until tender. About halfway through cooking, you can add your eggs to the potato pot. This will save you from putting on two pots of water. Once potatoes have finished cooking, cool down with cold water. Remove skins from potatoes and cut into medium-sized chunks. Remove peel from the eggs and chop into a small dice. Combine diced potatoes, eggs, onions and celery into a bowl. Add one jar of mayonnaise and the yellow mustard, stir to combine all ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with your pimento cheese sandwich and enjoy!
The recipe can be sized down to fit your family’s needs.
